Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). The couple relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach as well as school plays when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001, the film set records in its first day revenue as well as opening weekend takings. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance by three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma was awarded five nominations for her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
